I was born and raised in sunny Southern California and grew up listening to the music of Beach Boys while I tooled around San Diego county in my 1964 ½ Ford Mustang.

The carefree summer days of my youth were spent at the beach. While I soaked up the sun, my nose would be buried in a novel or in a spiral notebook where I would jot down my observations of the people around me, ala Harriett The Spy. I wrote my first novel at the tender age of eleven, completed it by age twelve and knew before I turned thirteen that my destiny was to be a novelist.

I married a handsome sailor and had two beautiful daughters. We moved to the metro Atlanta area in 1991 and I was so not prepared for the shock-culture and otherwise! Not only were chipotle peppers unavailable, nobody even knew what they were. Mosquitoes don't wait until dark to bite; they bite any damned time they get the opportunity! And if you were born north of the Mason-Dixon line and west of the state of Texas, you're a Yankee, even if you come from Southern California.

Despite my grousing, a lot of wonderful things have happened to me since moving to Georgia. My beautiful daughters have grown up into beautiful young women, I found Georgia Romance Writers and have made some lifelong friends. I achieved RWA PRO status approximately three years ago, and that's when I started considering myself a "serious writer". Serious, meaning I'm actually sending manuscripts out to agents and editors in pursuit of publication.
